NOVEMBER 9, 2022 - NEWSLETTER
Hello SLP Schools Online Families,
With Daylight Savings Time and the gray skies it is starting to feel more and more like early winter. It’s time to dig through the closet and collect all that winter gear. We may need it soon.
It’s been a busy and fun start to school, and now we’re well into our routines of this school year. We have a few weeks to go in this first trimester, and it’s fun to see the leaps in learning at this point in the year.
I have been having a great time visiting the live learning that our online students are participating in. Recently, in a Math Club, students were collaborating on an open-ended math problem. One younger student was proud to share his thinking as he described how he “multiplicated” to find his “conjecture.” There is some delightful, engaging, and deep dialogue happening in our Online classrooms!
Spring Lake Park School buildings are hosting Tour and Talk events at our K-4 schools and the high school at the end of the month. We welcome any families with children who will be entering preschool and kindergarten next year or who are exploring high school options to come and visit. Find Tour and Talk information online and please share it with anyone who may be interested. If you know of anyone who may be interested in SLP Schools Online, please let me know. I’m always happy to talk about our learning model with interested families.
Please continue to call the attendance line, 763-600-5209, to report student absences due to illness, appointments, and vacation. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me.
Take care!
Kim Fehringer
Principal of Assignment

Flu alert
Flu season is here. Along with the rest of Minnesota, Spring Lake Park Schools is experiencing an increase in flu and flu-like illness. Please help keep our community healthy. Continue to practice good hand hygiene and keep your student home when they are sick.
Support during upcoming holidays
It's that time of year when a variety of different holidays are approaching. If you celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas and need some extra support during this upcoming season, there may be programs within our district or local community where we can connect families. Please reach out to Abbey Pierce, the District Lead Social Worker & Community Resource Liaison, at 763-600-5078 for more information.
