Even if you email the teacher, you MUST report the absence to the office! You can either call the school or email our attendance secretary at skoch@hse.k12.in.us. Thank you!
Cafe News
Due to the late start time we are unable to serve breakfast at school. Families will have the option to order 5 breakfast meals per week. The meal pick-up order form will be sent each week on Tuesday for pick up the following week and due Thursdays by 4pm. Meals will be picked up at either HSE High School or Fishers High School.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Food Services at 317-594-4100.
Report Cards
Report cards are available now for grades PK-4.
You can view your student’s report card by logging into Skyward Family Access, opening the portfolio section, and opening your PDF.
This year is a bit different for us as we navigate assessments and reporting in a virtual setting.
- Any indicators left blank have not yet been assessed. These will be assessed in Quarters 3 or 4.
- Indicators that are marked with a grade or score represent opportunities for a follow up conversation with your student. Celebrating and setting goals helps your student develop more ownership when talking through the various indicators on their report card.
- The Personal Behavior and Work Habits section of the report card represents study skills or social skills. Some of these have been assessed but a few are more difficult to determine in a virtual setting.
- The Speaking and Listening section of the report card may also contain skills that are a bit more difficult to assess in a virtual setting.

A Message from the Counselor
Good afternoon HRE families! This week your child(ren) continued their Social Emotional Learning through our Second Step program. Grades K-2 did not have a home link this week. Your child continued to learn about the idea of empathy and why and how it is important to practice this skill when making friends and predicting emotional responses to certain situations.
If your child(ren) are in 4th grade they began learning about parts of their brain and how our brains, emotions, and behaviors all interact to create and shape our experiences. Check out my Canvas page if you would like to learn more about what your student learned this week!
If you have any questions about the Second Step program, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher for more information. Thank you for supporting your child in learning the skills that lead to success in school and in life.
Have a great long weekend! We are all looking forward to seeing students in the building!
Friends of the Library
Please look at the link below and consider donating a book to our library. All books purchased will be highlighted on the school announcements, your child will have their picture taken with the book & it will be placed on our "Friends of the Library" wall in the library, and your child will be the first one to check out the book. Thank you for making our library better by supporting reading!
