CSA
Community Supported Agriculture
The Basics:
For over 25 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer
How it works:
CSA members pay a subscription fee at the beginning of each growing season and, in return, receive a share of the resulting harvest.
Why CSA?
With the growing demand for organic and locally grown foods, CSA is growing rapidly throughout North America and has taken hold, albeit less prominently, in Europe. CSA offers people an opportunity to support local agricultural business (hence the name) and acquire food that they can feel good about eating.
