Jacques Pépin

Jacques Pépin was born in Bourg-en-Bresse, France in 1935. Pépin first apprenticed in a kitchen at the age of 13, after dropping out of school to do so. After training in Paris, he moved to the United States, where he worked as a chef in top restaurants. He began co-hosting and hosting cooking shows in the 1990s, he also won an Emmy Award for a television series with Julia Child. Pépin has written more than 20 books and continues to host shows on PBS.
