Fitness Friday
Friday the Thirteenth is coming up this week and we thought it would be a great idea to focus on personal fitness during the day. We are encouraging students and staff members to wear workout clothing and athletic footwear so that they are able to participate in any activities they choose throughout the day.

International Walk to School Day 2017
Wednesday was a busy day on campus with our Walk to School Day in the morning and our planned Fun Run for the afternoon. Thank you to all of the students and family members that braved the weather and foot traffic that day. Although we were not able to conduct the Fun Run that afternoon, the students and parents who faced disappointment due to the inclement weather really were fantastic. I was in the Barclay cafeteria with our approximately 180 runners, and every person that was there filled my bucket that afternoon. Thank you again for being a fantastic group that is filled with character and compassion for each other.
Event Information
Parent Session on Standards Based Grading and Reading Assessments
Paired with Kids Night Out, this parent session will focus on two topics that may be of interest to parents as the November report cards and parent/teacher conferences approach. This session will explain the difference in grading with a 1,2,3, or 4 and the grading that most parents are familiar with which is based on percentages. We will also offer insight into different reading levels based on our Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System. The session is planned to run from 6:15 pm to 7:00 pm, allowing some time to grab dinner before the conclusion of the Kids Night Out activities. The entrance to the event will be the same entrance used for the kids (although we promise you'll be in a nice quiet are of the building).
You may RSVP to this event through the link on the flyer, or by calling 637-1840.
This is my first attempt at an RSVP in this manner, so I hope it works!
