School Library System Update

It's hard to believe that October is here and that the leaves are changing....but autumn in the Finger Lakes is a beautiful thing :) Hopefully you are all off to a great school year, and looking forward to a relaxing Columbus Day weekend.

SLS has been going out into districts to share information about new resources and services provided by SLS. We've been working hard to get everyone's databases up and running through the portal, and are encouraged by its improved functionality and usage. If you have database questions, just let Ryan know, rayers@wflboces.org.

The inquiry workshop on September 23, 2015 with Dr. Barbara Stripling was well attended, and team of librarians and teachers were able to work together to develop collaborative lessons and units in Social Studies. It's wonderful to see such great synergy!

I love to hear about all the exciting things happening in your libraries...a great new lesson or project, author visits, working with community partners...so please continue to share photos, events, and other good news!

"Librarians are just like search engines, except they smile and they talk to me and they don't give me paid-for advertising when they are trying to help. And they have actual hearts." -Matt Haig
