Febuary Update
A Healthy Disregard for the Impossible
In the 2012 update from the CEO to investors, Larry Page, co-founder of Google, talked about the slogan on which the company was built – “a healthy disregard for the impossible”. He emphasized how he would often remind employees “we operate this company with a healthy disregard for the impossible”. Wait a minute, Larry Page - of Jewish ancestry, but not raised with any religion and never reported as practicing any sort of faith at all - is operating on this principle and, in it, seeing the creation and growth of the preeminent search tool in the world?

2012 was the same year that the Palau Sacramento Festival united churches and gospel based leaders – something seemingly impossible when Rev. Henry Wells and others worked toward it for 7 years. Through the ACTS Group (founded in 2012), William Jessup University, City Pastors Fellowship and other notable organizations and events, gospel based leaders ramped up setting a spiritual tone and environment in the heavenly places that is being reflected on the earth. Gospel centered leaders – let’s operate with a healthy disregard for the impossible! We know the God who says NOTHING will be impossible with him. A city in which every person has come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ . . . Impossible? Wait a minute!

We are "In-Season"!
I am excited to announce that we are officially "in" this year's Season of Service, which will run from January 16th - April 23rd 2016. This season will mark an increase in churches all across the Greater Sacramento region serving the needs of their communities by serving local schools. Season of Service 2016 officially kicked off in conjunction with the MLK Celebration Service at Capital Christian on January 17th. The Serve United team was able to worship with an incredible choir, share the vision of Season of Service and Every School Partnership, and invite people to sign up for this year's Season! The following day, we shared the vision of Every School Partnership at the MLK Diversity Expo at the Sacramento Convention Center. We are so excited to see what God does through this Season of Service and we hope your church is too! Is your church on board to serve this season? If so, please have a church representative sign up for Season of Service/Every School Partnership HERE!

We sent out our end of year, 2015 giving letters and statements last week. It amazes me that the ACTS Group functioned on the generosity of only 42 donors and 12 churches in 2015. Honestly, I meet with Jeff every week and we both marvel at this and, at the same time, are stumped at why we have not yet seen the move from interest to active generosity in terms of giving. We sought to make support simple through online giving (insert online link) where you can set up a recurring gift of any size. We also clarified the importance, benefits and results of having a missional organization committed as a catalyst and mobilizer for believers and churches in the Sacramento region. One thing we had not yet done was to begin to pray very specific prayers. Not just prayers for our most basic needs, but prayers for our growth. So, we are praying for an addition of 10 participating churches in the month of February and 10 new monthly recurring donors. As you read this, will you be an answer to this prayer? I will report to you on March 4 the results. Specific prayers can lead to specific answers and more glory for the Lord!
