November 2016

What November Brings

This month we have several themes: Elections, Thanksgiving, Veteran's Day and Fine Arts. We held our Student Council Elections, had a student election for the Presidents, and have a display in the library about our Presidents and Electoral College. We have a Thanksgiving display and a tepee for a reading nook. We honored our veterans with a display in the library. We also honored them during our wonderful Fine Arts Night. Our kindergarten classes are working on some Nursery Rhyme Engineering classes. Using STEAM classes, they are learning to work together in groups, as well as utilizing resources well. Our first grade students are continuing to work on nonfiction. Our second grade students have been working on nonfiction text features and author's purpose. our third-fifth grade students will continue having lessons on Destiny Quest and Bluebonnet. Third grade students were also invited to come integrate QR codes with Author's Purpose.
