EVERY student received a FREE Eagle T-Shirt!

The English Landing PTA purchased an Eagle T-Shirt for every English Landing student! These T-Shirts arrived this week and have been distributed. We have ordered extras so when a new student joins our school, he or she will receive one too from the English Landing PTA.

This week our fifth grade students attended a field trip and wore this T-Shirt. What a great tool to have when grade levels attend field trips and also to wear on EL SPIRIT DAYS!

On Thursday, we had our First Quarter All School Assembly where each grade level highlighted learning goals that had been met. Our STUDENT ASSEMBLY LEADERS (photo above) led this All School Assembly!

Media Center Needs Your Help!

The media center needs your help! We are asking for volunteers throughout the months of October and November to update our 8,000 library books! We are working to replace the green dots that designate reading levels with new and improved labeling that meets our 21st century learning goals and current classroom practices. Please contact Kitchell Schneider ( if you are interested in helping.

MISSING Student Badge Process

Dear English Landing Families,

Once again students are utilizing student badges to be used daily at English Landing to access each student’s breakfast and lunch account, check out library books, and monitor daily student bus transportation. Because of all the components involved with the student’s badge, each student is required to wear his/her student badge to and from school each day.

English Landing students will be issued two badges free of charge; however, if a student misplaces or loses his/her badge after receiving the first two free badges, there will be a fee of $5.00 for each additional badge issued. If a student misplaces or loses this second badge, a $5.00 fee will be charged for each additional badge issued. We will automatically replace a student’s badge as this is needed each day, however, the badge will remain at school until the replacement fee is received.

Each English Landing student also received an English Landing “break away” lanyard (provided with PTA funds) when issued his/her student badge. Students will not be permitted to trade this English Landing lanyard for another lanyard.

2017-2018 PTA School Directory Order Form

The English Landing Elementary School Directory will be distributed to all families electronically this year. If you would like to order a printed copy, please complete the following form and return to school by Monday, October 23rd.

REMINDER: As shared in previous SMORE communication and Back to School News, the English Landing PTA is finalizing a 2017-2018 English Landing School Directory. This directory will include family contact information (student name, parent name(s), address, phone number, e-mail) unless a family completes a 2017-2018 Park Hill School District Image/Contact Information Opt-Out Form. *Form available on the English Landing School website under Parent Resources.

All parents are invited to share their feedback through the annual Park Hill Parent Survey!

Please fill out a survey for each child that you have enrolled in Park Hill. October 20, 2017 is the deadline to provide your feedback on this parent survey.

2017 Major Saver Campaign: Coming SOON!

The 2017 Major Saver campaign is just a few weeks away! Proceeds raised from the 2017 Major Saver campaign goes to the Park Hill Education Foundation.

The Park Hill Education Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to support educational programs that benefit the students, staff, and patrons of the Park Hill School District.

Major Saver Campaign Kickoff: The week of October 30, 2017

  • Sales packets will be delivered and distributed.

Major Saver Sales: November 6, 2017 to November 13, 2017

  • A Major Saver staff member will handle daily money collections and card distribution at each school office

Park Hill School District Volunteer Process


Volunteers are important to the success of thePark Hill School District, and we appreciate their service to ourschools. In order to keep our children safe, all volunteers who might ever be around students without an employee present must be screened, starting in August 2014.

Volunteers who have passed the screening process will be re-screened three years from their screening date.

If you have questions about the volunteer screenings, contact Cindy Small, (816) 359-6817.


  • If a volunteer will be alone with students in order to facilitate smaller groups on a field trip or in the school, that volunteer must be screened.

  • If an unscreened volunteer will be on a field trip, that volunteer must stay with a district employee.

  • Sitting with a student outside the classroom is unsupervised volunteering, even though staff members might walk through regularly. These volunteers must be screened.

  • Unless the volunteer who works with students will stay with an employee at all times, the volunteer must be screened.

  • Screened volunteers may not supervise unscreened volunteers. Unscreened volunteers must stay with a district employee.

  • District employees have the right to refuse the services from any volunteer.


  1. The screening forms are available on this page, under the volunteer forms section.

  2. The volunteer will fill out a screening form for us to submit for a request for child abuse or criminal neglect records from the Missouri Department of Social Services.

  3. The volunteer will sign a form indicating that he or she agrees to all our volunteer rules and agrees to be rescreened every three years.

  4. The school will send the forms to the Communication Services department at the district office.

  5. The Communication Services department will submit the request for child abuse or criminal neglect records to the Missouri Department of Social Services and check to make sure the volunteer is not on the sex offender registry.

  6. The Communication Services department will notify the building of the results when the screening is complete. It can take up to two weeks for the screening to go through.

*If the volunteer or a building staff member isuncomfortable submitting the screening form, which includes thevolunteer’s social security number, through the district interofficemail, the volunteer may bring the form to the district office and turn it in directly to the Communication Services staff. We will keep allforms in a secure location.
