Mike Abbott
Position: School Transportation Director
Background Info:
I've been a lifelong resident of Avoca, for 44 years. I graduated from ACS with some of the best. Right out of High School I started my career path as a Mechanic at All Season Tire. I met Kelliann and got married in 2003. Shortly thereafter we had 2 amazing children Megan & Christopher, who keep us young. From coaching, dance recitals and sports to prom, graduations, and colleges...there's never a dull moment in our family. My career path changed for the better 6 years ago when I became an ACS bus driver. Bus driving has become a very rewarding job, getting to know the students and watching them grow up. A few months back I transitioned into the Transportation Supervisor role, and all though stressful, it is also rewarding knowing I'm doing the best I can for all the students. In our spare time, our family owns a restaurant at the Windmill Farm & Craft Market in Penn Yan NY, called Kelli's Korner Grill. We spend every Saturday there from the end of April to November, this will be our 5th year. Come see us some Saturday.
Favorite Food: Cheese, Cheeseburgers, and more cheese!
Hobbies: I enjoy working on old cars with Chris and riding my motorcycle.
Wildwood Student of the Month...Congrats Megan!

Ag to Cafeteria
Over the weekend nearly 700 students in grades 7-12th gathered in Syracuse NY for the FFA Member Leadership Series. Avoca was well represented with 20 members participating in the event. The focus of the weekend was connection. Students learned how to set goals and create change within their lives to become the best version of themselves. This event empowered students with new knowledge and skills that they need to be confident and capable leaders – both in their chapters and beyond. The "After Dark" event was a student social which allowed students to meet, share ideas, and create new friendships.
Archery Club
The State Archery Competition will be held on Friday, March 10th in Syracuse at the Center of Progress Building at the NYS Fair Grounds.
