Principal's Message π€
Monday is our 37th Day of School!!! We have about two more weeks left in Quarter 1. Teachers and students are working hard to show what they know as they wrap up Q1. More information will be shared below about our upcoming Ohio State Benchmark Readiness Assessments occurring this week and next week.
Thursday, October 26th and Friday, October 27th are FALL CONFERENCES. Noble will be hosting Fall Conferences towards the end of this month. Check your child's ClassDojo in order to sign up for Fall Conferences. Your child's teacher is working with each student to set goals and we would love to share them with you. Students in Grade 2-5 are invited to attend Fall Conferences with their parents.
OCTOBER is SCHOOL SAFETY MONTH π©Ή
This month is SCHOOL SAFETY MONTH!
We will be reviewing and reinforcing our safety expectations to ensure all scholars are taught how to safely behave at Noble. Please note that at no time will fighting be tolerated here at Noble Elementary. We have had some scholars who have made unsafe choices and sometime state that they were "play fighting". As explained to all scholars earlier this year, we take all fighting as unsafe behavior - we do not "play fight" at school. I would deeply appreciate if you could reinforce this message at home so scholars know that parents and school are on the same page. Thank you in advance!
Lockdown Drill Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.
This Tuesday, October 17th, at 9:30 a.m. we will be practicing a level 2 lockdown drill. These drills, which are required by law, allow the district to practice security plans, enhance safety, and offer increased options in the event of an emergency. During the practice drill tomorrow, all exterior and interior doors will be locked, movement within the school is allowed only by announcement from the administration. No entry into or exit from the building is allowed. Students are to return to their room. Activity in the classroom continues as usual.
In the event of an actual emergency, the district will communicate with families through text messages, email, and/or the robocall system. Because the first priority of the district is to ensure the safety of your child, these messages will be sent as quickly as possible and after it is determined that all students are out of harmβs way. Please do not attempt to call the building during an emergency. All staff members will be assisting our students during that time and will be communicating with emergency personnel.

Attendance Update π
We continue to aspire to meet a 95% Attendance Rate here at Noble Elementary. We're currently at a 94% attendance rate thus far throughout the school year. We need to work hard to make sure that our scholars are here at school each day to ensure they are learning. The remainder of Quarter 1 is where we need to solidify our strong attendance habits. These daily habits set us up for the rest of the school year, so let's make this happen, Noble! #NOBLESHOWSUP
Students in Grades 3-5 will have the opportunity to participate in quarterly attendance celebrations if they maintain a 95% Daily Attendance Rate. We will be sharing this celebration with families next week - please do everything you can to make sure your student is here at Noble each day!
Ohio State Tests - Benchmark Readiness Assessments
Starting on Tuesday, October 17th, Noble third, fourth, and fifth graders will be taking both an English Language Arts and a Mathematics Benchmark Readiness Assessment. These tests are full length Ohio State Test assessments. They will each span over two days and scores will be used as predictors for their performance on the April Ohio State Tests that feed into our Ohio School Report Card.
Some helpful habits to prepare for the Benchmark Readiness Assessments are:
- Please make sure that your child gets a good night sleep! They will be taking a lengthy test on multiple days each week and this will set them up for success.
- Please make sure that your child gets a hearty breakfast. Ensuring that your child gets a hearty breakfast will give them the energy to show what they know on these tests.
Students will be able to earn tickets for meeting/exceeding expectations during their testing sessions. Students can earn tickets for:
- Being to school on time on their testing days (3 tickets)
- Showing their work throughout their testing sessions (Teachers will check every five minutes and students can earn 1 ticket each time)
- Working for 30 minutes (5 tickets)
- Working for 60 minutes (10 tickets)
Students who improve on their Spring 2023 OST performance score or earn Proficient, Accelerated, or Advanced on their assessments will also earn a special treat. We are VERY EXCITED to see our scholars excel :)
