What was the ninjas purpose?

A ninja (a.k.a) shinobi was a agent in feudal Japan. A ninja is also a person who uses ninjusta. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infitration , assassination and guerrilla warfare were some of the functions.Their convert of waging irregular warfare were deemed dishonorable and beneath the samurai caste, they had to follow the strict rules about honor and combat. The shinobi were specially trained group of spies and mercenaries, they appeared in the sengoku or warning states period of the 15th century, but antecedents may have existed in the 14th century, and possibly in the 12th century.
