This competition pits the best students on their particular instruments in the area in an individual-based competition where they perform music that was prepared for a panel of judges. After judges hear every performer, they rank students in ability and the top students in each section are selected to perform in the All-Region Band.

The Ponder Fine Arts Department works extremely hard to help develop and grow this program. Help wish them luck at their upcoming competitions. We are extremely proud and know that awesome things are happening in the Fine Arts program!!

UNT: High School Career Connect

Beginning Friday, November 12th, mentors from the University of North Texas will be at PonderJunior High to work with 8th grade students. The University of North Texas and the Greater Texas Foundation established High School Career Connect to provide career advice, exposure to PHS endorsements, postsecondary planning, and workforce trends to help prepare students for life beyond high school.

Mentors will be on campus every Friday to ensure all 8th grade students have the opportunity to discuss and select their academic path.

PJH One Act Play

The One Act Play will conduct a practice performance of the play, Lily Daw and the Three Ladies, in front of PJH students on Thursday, November 18. This performance will take place in the PJH cafeteria. They have worked extremely hard to prepare for the UIL One Act Play competition - which will take place on December 3.

Football wrapped up their season vs. Paradise on Thursday November 4th.

We are extremely proud of how our student athletes represented Ponder JH on and off the field. They faced a great deal of adversity throughout their season and handled it with d

etermination and perseverance. Our Lions never quit attitude will serve them well, as great things are ahead for Ponder Football!

Volleyball Celebrates TWO District Championships

Both 7th and 8th grade teams finished their seasons as District Champions. They were able to overcome losses earlier in the season - the 7th grade team beat Whitesboro in the championship game, while the 8th graders took down Boyd. Help us congratulate these ladies on a great season. We are very proud of the way our ladies played with energy and grit - they are a lot of fun to watch!!

Both JH boys and girls teams have kicked off the basketball season.

November home games (all games will be played in the JH gym):

11/16 vs. Boyd - Boys

11/29 vs. Callisburg - Boys

I would like to thank all of our parents and families for their continued support our student athletes. #onetribe
