Fall Festival is Tonight!

Please join us for food and entertainment at the Winchester PTA’s 2018 Fall Festival tonightfrom 5:30-8pm! The Fall Festival is designed to be fun for your entire family! Please join us to eat, play games, win prizes, and socialize with fellow Winchester families and staff.

The Fall Festival will include:

· Food – The Cosmic Burrito Food Truck (, Papa John’s Pizza, Mrs. Field’s Cookies, SkinnyPop popcorn, Soda, Flavored Sparkling Water, CapriSun

· Entertainment – Gaming Truck (XBOX, Wii), Miniature Motorways Slot Car 5-lane oval race track and 8-car Demolition Derby, Inflatable Obstacle Course (Adrenaline Rush II, Airbrush Tattoos (featuring the Winchester Dragon!)

· Carnival Games & Prizes (points earned from games can be redeemed for prizes)

· Cake Walk (cake donations needed the day of the event)

· Classroom Raffle Baskets (winners drawn at the end of the event)

Let's Read Math

A program of Math Enrichment for Second and Third Grade Students

Sponsored by the American Association of University Women Northville-Novi

as part of its commitment to supporting local community education

“Let’s Read Math” workshops are offered by the American Association of University Women Northville - Novi (AAUW-NN) on November 17, 24, and December 1, 2018 at the Northville District Library meeting room from 1 PM – 2:30 PM.

Workshops will engage children in opportunities to enrich knowledge of math through familiar children's literature, appropriate creative math activities, and typically a take home item to continue math activity at home. The program is limited to 25 students. Please see the attached flyer and return it to your school by Wednesday, November 14, 2018.

Kids Empowered

Please use this link to volunteer for the Kids Empowered Un-Assembly on Oct. 23rd during the day for students.

Please join us on Mon. Oct. 22nd for a Parent Workshop in Winchester’s Faculty Lounge from 6:30-8 p.m.

Parents will learn twelve ways to bully-proof kids. They will learn how to teach children friendship skills and how to manage unfriendly classmates and friends. Parents will learn the words, the tone of voice, body language and strategies to teach children to shut down negative situations and to avoid getting into a bullying situation. Parents will learn the activities the children are doing in the Kids Empowered Un-Assembly on Mon., Oct. 23, 2018 to practice some of these skills.

Bus Evacuation Drill

Please read the attached letter regarding the bus evacuation drills that are being performed. Winchester's drill is scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 at 8:30am.

We also need random 5th grade photos taken throughout the year. When submitting photos please be sure to upload the highest quality photo you can. The program we use to create the yearbook does not accept low quality photos.

Spirit Wear Sale - Ends Sunday 10/21

Fridays are spirit days at Winchester and we encourage all staff and students to wear their Winchester spirit wear! Get your Winchester spirit wear now before the sale ends. Lots of great items for students and parents!

Order and pay online by October 21st at Items will arrive towards the end of November. These items also make great Christmas gifts too!

Parents At Lunch (PALS)

Please consider spending some time during lunchtime assisting the lunch staff! New this school year, you can sign up just for your child/children’s lunch period if that works better than signing up for the whole lunchtime.
