Principal's Message
Dear SHE Family,
Thank you for your support over the past two and a half years and the opportunity to be the principal of such a great school! Being able to spend this time with your students, has truly been a joy. I am proud of the work accomplished and appreciate the opportunity to watch your children grow socially, academically, and physically. I am so proud of our Huskies!
SHE is a sweet special place. We have good students , a dedicated staff, and a committed community.
Thank you for all of your support in our classrooms, at PTO events, our evening programs and celebrations. Thank you for the time you have invested in homework, projects, studying and more! Thank you for your involvement and for being intentional in ensuring we continue this great work together.
Get some rest, enjoy your family, and don't stop learning.
Enjoy your summer. You will be missed.

Continuous Achievement
What is Continuous Achievement?
A framework developed by Fulton County Schools (FCS) that has been implemented in all elementary and middle schools which includes a process for advancement in the current grade level or an acceleration process which allows a student to advance above grade level.
Who is Tested?
Students’ performance is evaluated using specific criteria established by FCS to support a students’ most appropriate placement for instruction every 18 weeks. Students who met the initial criteria were tested during the window of Monday, May 7- Thursday, May 24.
What Initial Criteria is Used?
Initial criteria include, but is not limited to, grade level assessments, report cards, diagnostic/standardized assessments, and teacher recommendation. Students who did not meet the initial criteria were not administered the diagnostic placement assessment.
What Happens Next?
Once a student is tested, additional criteria will be used to determine if the student will be placed in an on-level, advanced, or accelerated class. Letters notifying parents of students’ placement will be sent home on Thursday, May 24. Parents of students who do not meet the criteria for advanced or accelerated placement will have the option to waiver their child up until Friday, June 8. Please stop by during summer office hours to complete the waiver process with Assistant Principal Burns.
Questions?
Please reach out to your child’s teacher to discuss their current progress to determine the steps to help him/her reach their full potential.
Clinic News
All medication left in the clinic after school dismisses on May 24, 2018 will be disposed of. Please pick up your child’s medication!

Parent Survey
Dear Summit Hill Family,
We want to make sure we are moving in the right direction as a district, and we need your help.
We’re asking you to complete a survey to help the district determine if it is meeting targets related to Strategic Plan 2022. The FCS staff is answering a separate set of questions.
The SP2022 survey takes just 10 minutes, and while we will make it available until June 8, we hope you will take the time to answers the questions right away.
Here is a link to the family survey: SP2022 Family Survey (https://bit.ly/2wsKpmd)
We are excited to learn your perceptions of how things are going and identify some areas where we can continue to grow.
If you have any questions, send them to communications@fultonschools.org
Thank you.
Summer Learning Challenge
Calling All Huskies,
We have some exciting summer challenges for you and your family to participate in. Summer is NOT the time to stop learning! Research shows that you "lose" what you don't "use," so doing some type of academic based activity each day during the summer is very important to ensure that you are ready to begin the next grade level.
Go to https://summithillsummerchallenge.weebly.com to learn more about these exciting challenges and enjoy a summer filled with staying academically fit.
