Week of 12/5-12/9
Let's Get Some Trees Up!
Our holiday party is quickly approaching 12/12/16 and I would like to have all trees for the Atrium ready on that day. There are 3 trees up for grabs if you get them out of the conference room, and hopefully this will be a fun event for the kids. We want the trees to represent different cultures and customs. For example, the media center will do a tree with ornaments representing different books, from different cultures. How you choose to do it should reflect the students in your grade level. Again, all trees need to be up and ready by December 12. Have fun, be creative, get cheerful and enjoy this time of year!

Benchmarks Complete!
Thank you for your patience and work on the Benchmarks. I know you all don't love them or DE, but here are some results. The district is looking at other vendors as we move forward to something more aligned to the standards. Here is a snapshot of what was imported as of Saturday.
Walkthroughs in Encore!
You are doing instructional rounds within the core classes and we constantly see the great drive and determination in the core. If you get a chance to walkthrough our Encore classes, please do so. Some students just come to school for these classes…they love the hands on opportunity that they get cooking, building, roboting, etc. Stop in and see what happens when they leave the core!
Congrats to All County Band Students Working with Philip Riggs, 2016 Grammy Music Educator of the Year!
Mavericks Ballin and Pinnin!
If you have not been to a wrestling match this season or a basketball game, get out there and see these Mavericks do their thing! The competition is intense, the energy is in the crowd and students love to see you supporting what they love!!!
A Look at the Class of 2021!
Thank you all for allowing the 8th graders to go over and participate in the Pep Rally! Though a little shell-shocked, they seem to enjoy the taste of becoming Bulls next year and captured a shot in the stadium!
Final Thought: In Case You Missed It...
It's just another football game…well, I may have thought so too, but the energy in HRHS Stadium Friday Night would have changed your minds. In four (4) Overtimes, the Bulls pulled out the win 55-49. Not only is Jason Seidel leading these Ragin' Bulls to the 4th Round of State Playoffs in his first year…there are other "firsts" to highlight. This is the first time in history the high school has been this far in the playoffs and the seniors were the first group of 6th graders to open HiRMS. I invite you to join several of us Friday night to Weddington High School to see these young men take the field. We would love to have as many from HiRMS there to support our high school! Good Luck Bulls! #HornsUp #Bullspeedahead
