It's Golf Ball Hail

Golfers Heaven

Golfers on September 1, 1969 thought that they had died and gone to heaven when it started to rain Golf Balls. Was this a golfing gift from the heavens? Not exactly. According to meteorologists in Punta Florida they may have just experienced a tornado that picked up a golf ball filled pond and poured them onto the streets of this town.

Weather Changes History

In Edvard Munch's "The Scream," painted in 1893, we see a ghostly figure clutching his face and wailing beneath a blood-red sky. According to recent research, this haunting sky was likely inspired by a real-life. A volcano erupted and the sulfur dioxide mixing with the sunset. This is how the blood red sky was interpreted in this painting.
