MPS Students are....
We have been focusing on 3 main areas at MPS, including being Safe, Kind, and Hardworking. Students are recognized by staff in the building when they are seen demonstrating one of these goal behaviors. Students then receive a sticker tag to place on our brag boards outside of the library. It is so awesome to see our brag boards full of students names who are working hard to help us continue to make MPS a "Great Place to Come and Learn".
Thank you!
All the glue sticks, expo markers, pencils, crayons, and many other supplies were immediately put to good use with our students!
THANK YOU!!
Masks
We have had great success with students wearing masks throughout the day. We continue to remind students that the mask must be pulled up over his/her nose. Please reinforce proper mask wearing with your students at home as well. We appreciate the continued support in keeping our school safe and healthy.
Quarantine Connections
Teachers are posting activities weekly in Schoology. These activities are supplemental to what is being taught in the classroom.
Additionally, we offer virtual check in/tutoring sessions each week. Session days and times vary by grade level and can be found in your student's homeroom Schoology course (see sample 1st grade schedule below).
If your student participates in any virtual sessions and also accesses activities in Schoology, he/she can be marked present with a specific attendance code. Please note both virtual and Schoology participation must occur to be eligible for the "present COVID code".
Please continue to send a note to school if your child will be absent for any reason, including due to quarantine. Without a note, absences are coded as unexcused.
Artonsonia
This year MPS will continue to partner with Artsonia to create a secure online art gallery and portfolio for our student’s artwork here at MPS and MES. The portfolio of your child’s artwork can follow them from kindergarten through grade 12! Artsonia also allows parents, grandparents and family to view artwork online and offers opportunities to purchase items featuring your child’s artwork!
If you have participated in the past, you do not need to sign up again!
Feel free to email sarah.lucas@fcps.org with any questions you may have.
Please use the following link for additional information and direct links to sign up! Artsonia Sign up/ Information
This year we hope to hold an art show in the spring. We will be in need of volunteers for this event! Please be on the lookout in March for volunteer opportunities!
Thank you for your continued support!
