CPS Teachers Make A Difference
Week Ending November 20, 2015
Dear faculty,
Getting ready for our Academic Review on December 16th. This is always a difficult time for the students as they must come through and perform their best for their parents. Remarkably, they always pull through and they feel very accomplished afterwards.
Love all the ideas for the Academic Review. I know it will be very special. I realize that having students pulled from your class for rehearsal can be rough at times. However, please keep your classes structured with lessons for those in the class. Feel free to take them to walk around the track or outside if need be for part of your class. Please make sure there is no down time and your class remains structured as they will be out of sync by the production and further having independent time tends to unravel them even further.
The majority of our students are earning good grades. A few are earning below a 'B' and this needs to brought to the attention of the parents prior to November 30th, for those who have not already done so. Please let the parents know why the poor grades are being earned and what action we can put in place to increase performance. Please CC me. If the student is doing poorly because of behavior issues, please do not go into detail in the email and request a meeting at the school to discuss the behavior so we can all move forward.
