DPM Newsletter - 5.12.23

Dear DPM Families,
We are so grateful to be working alongside such talented, caring educators at Deer Path. To our teachers and staff: DPM is better because you are here. Thank you for your daily dedication to the well being and growth of every child in your care. Our appreciation extends well beyond just this special week!
To our DPM families and APT: Thank you for all the cookies (SO many delicious treats), gift cards, and kind notes to our staff. Your generosity, support, and partnership with our teachers over the course of the school year mean so much to us all, and most importantly, is so awesome for your kids.
With warmer temperatures and sunnier days, students are reveling in any opportunities for more outdoor learning and time to play with friends. Still, learning in the classrooms continues to be engaging and innovative, with 5th graders creating homemade terrariums, 6th graders investigating forms of rocks in the lab using Starburst candies and discovering ingredients for a good mystery story, 7th graders using dystopian texts and films to compare and contrast, and 8th graders exploring different colors of flames in our science labs.
Earlier this week we welcomed our rising 5th graders from Sheridan, Everett, and Cherokee on Buddy Day where they heard from our amazing student musicians from Jazz Band, Pop A Cappella, and 8th-Grade Orchestra. Our excited guests met the 5th grade teachers, deans, and principals before taking a fun tour and participated in activities with a current 5th grade class. We cannot wait to see all our newest DPM 5th graders at our Web Day orientation this summer (August 18).
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day!
Sincerely,
Megan Eigenrauch, 5/6 Principal
Sam Paulsen, 7/8 Principal
