LHS TIGER TALK
October 1, 2021
A Very Important Message from Mr. Reed
Loveland Tiger Families,
It has come to our attention through a recent bulletin from the Ohio Department of Public Safety that there is another rumored social media trend set to occur. Specifically, the next Tik Tok challenge is to "slap a teacher". We are confident that the vast majority of our students and their families understand that this would violate the student code of conduct, but I am sending this as an official warning. Please let your children know that slapping teacher or staff member is a serious offense that can lead to them being suspended or possibly expelled.
Our schools function best when there is a partnership between parents, students, and staff. I am sending this note to make sure we are all on the same page and to ask that if you, or your students are aware of anyone planning this behavior, please reach out to me directly.
It would be a shame for a student to think they’re playing a prank only for them to experience severe school consequences. It is important that our staff members are assured that they are coming to work in a safe environment built on mutual respect between students and staff.
Respectfully,
Adam Reed
Principal
Loveland High School
News from the Office of School Counseling
LHS is excited for Exploration Wednesday on October 13! As a reminder, our seniors can choose what they would like to explore. This can be related to career, college or community service. Our sophomores and juniors will be taking a career/college assessment that they chose last spring and the freshmen will be participating in community development activities. Here’s a breakdown of information for each grade level:
Seniors - Please see this link for an overview of their options - Senior Opportunity Day (PDF). They will be off-site all day.
Juniors and Sophomores - Test selections and room assignments will be posted by the cafeteria. Everyone needs to be in their testing room by 7:40 am that day. Please note the following assessment-specific instructions:
ASVAB - please bring two, sharpened #2 pencils
Practice ACT - please bring a fully charged electronic device; while a calculator is embedded in program, you are welcome to bring your own if you wish
PSAT - please see this link for specific details - Steps for Success with PSAT/NMSQT Testing
WorkKeys - please bring a calculator
All students are welcome to bring a bottle of water and a snack.
Freshmen are to report to the cafeteria by 7:45 am for the start of your activities.
Also, please remember that all students in grades 9 through 11 will be released to lunch or to leave for the day at the end of testing which should be at approximately 12 noon. We trust that it will be a very meaningful day for the students. Feel free to contact your school counselor with any questions.
The Loveland High School College and Career Lecture Series continues in 2021-22 with an important event for seniors and their parents/guardians. A Financial Aid Information presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 5 from 7:00pm-8:00pm.
