Week 4 of Distance Learning Coming Up! We've Got This! But first, ENJOY your weekend!
Taking All Precautions!
Yesterday afternoon in my leadership meeting we heard from our district nurses outlining updated orders from the County Health Officer. Primarily, any business that is "open" is now required to outline how social distancing protocols are being implemented. In the coming weeks, you'll notice new signs around campus to this effect and I have also been asked to remind you of the following:
Guidelines for Workplace Safety: Employee Self-Assessment for All Employees Reporting to Work
Everyone who can carry out their work duties at home can do so.
All employees should self-assess for symptoms before entering the workplace.
Employees should not come to work if sick.
Employees who appear to have symptoms upon arrival at work or who become sick during the day should immediately be separated from other employees, customers, and visitors and sent home.
If an employee is confirmed to have COVID-19 infection, employers should inform fellow employees of their possible exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace but maintain confidentiality as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The fellow employees should then self-monitor for symptoms (i.e., fever, cough, or shortness of breath).
Guidelines for Workplace Safety in the Office Environment
Employees should maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet when being let into the building and at all times throughout the workday.
All staff should wash hands or use hand sanitizer upon entry into the building. Hand sanitizer will be available for employee use.
All individual workspaces should be separated by at least 6 feet.
All staff are required to wear a facial covering while working outside of the home if working around others (mask, bandana, etc). Facial coverings are provided to all employees as needed.
Sonoma County Health Officer Order for Public to wear Facial Coverings
Employees to please view this informational video from the Sonoma County Health Officer: Sonoma County Health Department information on face coverings / En Espanol
Break rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and frequently touched surfaces should be disinfected frequently throughout the workday.
Hand sanitizer effective against COVID-19 and soap and water is available for employee use at multiple locations in the building for frequent handwashing to take place.
Approved disinfectants and related supplies are available for employee use at all work site locations.
Signage should be displayed at each public entrance of the facility to inform all employees and customers that they should: avoid entering the facility if they have a cough or fever; maintain a minimum six-foot distance from one another; sneeze and cough into a cloth or tissue or, if not available, into one’s elbow; and not shake hands or engage in any unnecessary physical contact.
I think we're doing a great job with most of this. I want to emphasize the face mask regulation. I have forgotten several times myself this week! If there are two or more of us, we should be using masks or other face coverings. If you have any COVID like symptoms, please notify me immediately.
I hope you all get some sunshine and rest this weekend! See you at 4pm happy hour if you can make it!

Neat Opportunity from Mrs. Lutz
Mrs. Lutz will be recording a poem or two and we'll send it as a link in next week's WAG in case you'd like to push that out to families or share it in a Zoom class. Some teachers have already had her join a Zoom call and others prefer the method to show or share a video. She's excited to connect with kids either way, whatever works best for you! This is just another opportunity for community and connection if you'd like it.

Hi Teachers,
I hope you are all doing well and it looks like you are. :) I just wanted to check in. I have lots of fun ideas for connecting with your classes via zoom and videos. I wanted to give you time to acclimate to distance learning. I know I'm feeling overwhelmed but all the "stuff"!
I will send an email with some ideas this week. In the meantime, if you have any ideas for me do share!
One thing that might be fun is for me to pop in to one of your Zooms and share a poem since it is National Poetry Month. Again, we have all month so no rush.
See you soon on Zoom!

PTA Staff Discretionary Funds
If you have any Staff Discretionary or other FOPPTA fund reimbursement requests that you would like to submit, please feel free to e-mail a scan/photo of the form and receipts to fopptatreas@gmail.com OR mail to Erica Arent, 402 Ormsby Lane, Petaluma CA 94954. We are making an exception to the no e-mail reimbursement requests during this time of unknowns, however please hold on to the originals to submit once the school office is open and easily accessible. Due to the unexpected adjustment to distance learning, we will be allowing any staff discretionary funds remaining this year to roll over into your staff discretionary funds for next year. Please submit all reimbursement requests this year by May 15th, and then you will once again be able to submit requests next year as of July 1st.
The staff discretionary tracking sheet is updated to reflect current amounts remaining and can be found here.
The reimbursement form can be found at:
