Fall 2019 Pre-Admissions Information Series Program (PAS)
GSST hosted its first of many Pre-admission information series events on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Hosted at the TNCC Mary Christian Auditorium there was standing room only at the event with over 400 9th & 10th grade families in attendance.
What is the Pre-Admissions Series Program (PAS)? The Pre-Admissions Series Program is a program for high-achieving students who are seriously considering attending the Governor’s School for Science and Technology.
The PAS series is comprised of informational sessions, which taken together, will provide guidance to prospective GSST parents and students on how students can prepare themselves in 9th and 10th grade to gain acceptance and achieve success at both GSST and a competitive college.
This PAS program aims to educate those students and their parents about:
The program model of the Governor's School for Science and Technology (GSST).
The features of each of the three academic strands.
The course pre-requisites necessary for acceptance into each strand.
How students can develop their talents in the classroom and beyond.
How students can maximize their success in competitive college admissions.

Fall Festival Fun!
An afternoon of fun, fitness, laughter, and smiles was enjoyed by the students, families, and staff of the New Horizons Regional Education Centers (Newport Academy, Center for Autism, ED/ID). The high heat and humidity did not deter participants from gathering for the annual Fall Family Fun Festival at the Woodside Lane campus on October 2. Students of all ages, enjoyed fall-themed crafts, exciting fitness games, healthy snacks, playground fun, and the biggest hit: a Trackless Train ride by Barrels of Fun that thrilled students with a journey around the campus. Our annual Scholastic Book Fair saw a lot of action as Harry Potter and Star Wars books flew off the shelves. An additional surprise was Pete the Cat who provided hi-fives and posed for some awesome photos. Our staff members and their families were invited to attend as well. Over 130 children, teens, and adults delighted in the Fall Fun!
