Alyssa Cotellese
A Brief Overview of Me
Hi! My name is Alyssa Cotellese and I am 21 years old. I am from Boyertown, Pennsylvania where I live with my parents and younger sister when I am not at school. I am a junior here at Millersville University and I am studying Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Here are a few identity markers that represent me!
Gender
I am a female who fits the "typical" gender role, but I enjoy watching and participating in sports. I also enjoy other activities that are normally put into the male gender role, and am not ashamed of it.
Class
My family and I are a part of the middle class. Both of my parents work to support our family, and my sister and I work to make our own personal incomes and choose what we want to do with our money.
Race
I am a White American, but my ancestors come from Germany and Italy. I come from German (75%) and Italian (25%) decent. I really enjoy eating Italian food, but I look like I am 100% German!
How The Middle Class Has Affected Me
From being raised in the middle class, I have learned to appreciate everything I have and to be respectful and giving to those who are not as fortunate. From watching my parents work and be members of the middle class, I have been taught to work for what I want and appreciate what I have. All of the opportunities that I have experienced between my three jobs have allowed me to grow and learn and appreciate work. I have created a determination in me to work hard and be the best I can be and eventually raise a family in the middle class.
