The Size of Venus
When you compare the size of the planet Venus to the size of Earth, you will find that Venus is actually smaller than Earth, but not by that much.
The Weather and Tempurature
Venus' average surface temperature is 864 degrees fahrenheit, and the usual weather on Venus is very cloudy and extremely windy (Up to about 360 kph)
Also, with Venus's dense cloud cover, it is impossible to see Venus's surface from Earth with a telescope..
The Gravitational Pull of Venus
When you compare Venus's gravity compared to Earth's gravity, Venus's gravitational pull is less than Earth's, so if I were to go on planet Venus, I would weigh less than on Earth. Venus' gravitational pull is 8.87 m/s squared.
The Rings and Moons of Venus
Venus is actually has no rings and is a moonless planet
The Composition of Venus, and It's Surface
Venus has a Dense Iron Core and a similar composition to earth. It also has a rocky mantle/surface like Earth
The Discovery and Naming of Venus
There is now single human credited with the discovery of Venus. Venus is one of the five brightest planets, so it was probably seen by the first group of humans. Venus was named by the Romans, who named it after the Roman god Venus. The god of love and beauty.
Venus' Orbital Patterns
Venus revolves or orbits around the Sun once every 0.615 Earth years, or once every 224.7 Earth days. Venus travels at an average speed of 78,341 miles per hour or 126,077 kilometers per hour in its orbit around the Sun. So, the Earth takes one day to rotate on its axis, and it takes one year to revolve around the Sun in orbit. Venus, on the other hand, takes 243 days to turn once on its axis, and it takes almost 225 days to travel once around the Sun in orbit. As you can see, a day on Venus is longer than its year.
FUN FACTS! :)
1. If I lived on the Planet Venus, I would weigh 120 pounds. That is 12 whole pounds less!
2. Venus actually rotates the opposite way than most planets!
