History
North Dakota became a state on November 2, 1889. It was first settled by Native Americans several hundreds of years ago. The major tribes were Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara, Sioux, and Chippewa. Also Peggy Lee was from North Dakota. She was a famous singer, songwriter, and composer. She won 12 grammys!
