Week 2 of Marking Period 4, March 27th - April 1st
Open House - March 28th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Student Lead Conferences plus Digital Library, Counseling, Parent Liaison, and Communities in Schools Information will be provided.
From the Office of Principal Miranda
Greetings Jackrabbits,
Just yesterday #TeamSISD held it's 6th Annual Math Bee where several of our very own Jackrabbits had the opportunity to compete. First and foremost, I would like to personally thank our parents and families for supporting our mathematicians at the event as well as the months leading to our competition. Congratulations to all our campus math bee representatives. They are already winners!
A big shout out to our campus coordinator, Ms. Estrada for preparing, working and exposing our students to district level competition. It was intense to watch students show their talents and skills. Teachers also were present and supportive of their scholars. Know that your dedication and commitment never goes unnoticed. Our teachers are simply awesome!
Help me welcome two new educators to our growing team:
Physical Education Coach, Mr. Luis Concepcion goes by Coach "C" and Instructional Aide, Ms. Shambron Frescas. Both members will be great for kids!
Next, #TeamSISD is informing our parents, faculty and staff on the roll-out of Schoology. You may have already received notices about this initiative. Our school, Ensor MS and Eastlake HS is providing parent nights to our learning community. In the following paragraphs, Socorro ISD is providing context to what Schoology is about.
Socorro ISD parents will soon be able to connect with their child’s teacher, courses, and campus, all in one place via Schoology. Schoology is a Learning Management System that allows students to access their course materials from an online classroom.
Starting March 20, parents will be able to access their child’s course material, including assignments, assessments, and grades. Schoology is a system that is similar to learning management systems that colleges and universities across the country use. With this new tool, Socorro ISD is leading the way in preparing its students for greater success post-high school.
SISD parents can prepare to use Schoology starting this spring. They should ensure the listed primary parent of any student attending one of our SISD schools has a personal email on file with the district. If you are an educator and parent of a SISD student, please update your contact email to a personal email to ensure your parent account is created in a timely manner.

Classes are working towards filling out the phrase: Perfect Attendance to be rewarded with a pizza party. This requires 100% attendance from all students in their class. Bonus (fill out) days are Mondays and Fridays.
We are closely monitoring student tardies. Parents I need your help in making sure students are dropped off before 7:45 a.m. Together we can make sure scholars understand that punctuality is an important life skill. Thanks to those families who get to school prior to the tardy bell. Morning arrival should be stress-free for all.
Daily attendance is vital to students' academic and social and emotional success. If students are not feeling well health wise, it is imperative they stay home to keep themselves and others around them safe. When students are not ill, they should be in school. Together we can all make a difference.
