Bus Notes and Dismissal Changes
If your child will be riding a different bus home with another student, we need a hand-written signed note from each parent involved. We need a note saying who your child will be riding the bus home with and the bus number, plus a note from the other parent saying it's okay to have the student ride home with their child. Both notes will then be approved by the office staff for the teacher to give to the bus driver. If we do not get notes from both parents, the student will be sent home on their normal bus.
Changes in how your child will be going home that are different from his/her normal routine are required to have a note from home. The note needs to have the student's full name, date, dismissal change and parent signature. A note must be sent in everyday that the change is in affect. The note will then be sent to the office to keep track of each student's mode of transportation.

Café Expectations and Procedures
We want our café to be a place where our students can enjoy dining with each other using kindness and good manners.
There are two rules for students in the café.
1. Be Kind.
2. Be Safe.
This looks and sounds like:
Walk in quietly with your hands to yourself.
Use a quiet indoor voice to talk to your friends.
Raise your hand if you need help or need to get something.
Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself.
Eat your own food.
Cooperate with others to clean up your table.
Pick up all your trash and walk to trashcans to throw it away.
Actively listen while the cafeteria staff is giving directions.
Procedures to make our café a safe and enjoyable place to dine:
1 Café staff will greet students in hallway at west entrance of dining room.
2 Students will be lined up along the south wall in hallway (across from bulletin board) in the following order: (Brought, Milk, PBJ, Turkey Sandwich, Chef Salad, Pizza Pak, Hot,)
3 As students enter the dining room café staff will direct packers to their assigned classroom table. Students purchasing a milk/lunch will be directed to enter the serving line and then take a seat at their assigned table. (Table will be marked with a color coded cone assigned to that class)
4 Once seated at the table, student will raise their hand if they need assistants or additional items such as napkin, fork, etc.
5 After students have eaten, they will clean up after themselves. This includes cleaning off the table and making sure they have not left any trash on floor or around the eating area. When students have finished picking up after themselves, café staff will direct students to dispose of trash and trays.
6 Students who bring a lunch from home and going to recess right after lunch (1st, Kg, 4th) will place lunch box in basket at east end of dining room. Students returning to class will keep lunch boxes with them at table.
7 Students will remain seated until their teacher returns to the café to pick them up.
8 When teacher returns to café, students will line up along outer walls of café. Teacher and students will exit dining room at east end.
On Fridays 4th graders may choose a seat anywhere in the café. This privilege will be continued if students show they can follow café rules, use indoor voices and keep order during their lunch time.
Students can earn an extra day of “Choose your seat” if they do well on Fridays.

Response-to-Instruction (RtI)
RtI is a general education initiative designed to provide high quality instruction and interventions matched to student needs, and using learning rate over time and level of performance to make important educational decisions. The RtI model is based on a three-tiered model of service delivery with a focus on early intervention and prevention of academic and behavioral concerns. Data collected during this process provides valuable information regarding students’ educational progress and response to interventions. Students who do not demonstrate a response to well-implemented, scientifically-based interventions at the Tier 3 level would be referred for an educational evaluation to determine eligibility for special education. RtI is a component of HSE’s Child Find Process.
