Library Learning
Second grade students explored some of the features of Google Docs and practiced formatting in Google Docs.
Third-fifth grade students studied explored and learned about the different sections of the Dewey Decimal system and how nonfiction books are organized in almost every library in the world. They also learned how to search the library catalog. Both of these lessons took multiple sessions, and we will continue to study them throughout the rest of the school year. Students in these grades also got to reinforce classroom curriculum by going on a Google Expedition using VR goggles.
In addition to the above lessons, students studied the following in library classes:

Second- biographies
Third- Google Slides, Google Expedition- animal camouflage
Fourth- Google Expedition- Rocks. Minerals, and Gems
Fifth- Google Expedition- the American Revolution

March Book Madness
This contest will be completed at school, and all classes will have the opportunity to participate. Ballots will be shared with teachers and participating classes will each send in one vote. Weekly updates will be shared on the library's Facebook and Twitter pages. Stay tuned!
