New This Week
- Annual Student Update: Thank you to those who have completed the update! All families have been sent info regarding the Annual Student Update that is required by all schools each year. You will update your info through HAC. Even if you do NOT have any changes, you need to complete the update. At this time, we have less than 50% of parents who have completed this task. Messages were sent from CCPS regarding this with a link specific to your child. We hope to have more completed by the end of the week!
- We look forward to seeing you in the week ahead at Open House for Parents:
- Pre K-2 will be September 26th from 5:30PM-6:30PM.
- Grades 3-5 will be September 27th from 5:30PM-6:30PM.

- October 9th (2 hours), November 10th (5 hours), and February 16th (3.5 hours) are for our teachers to schedule parent teacher conferences. This is a change from our past practices where the time is divided over 3 days. Please know that our teachers must prioritize their conferences based on student needs. Your child's teacher will initiate the conferences as the dates approach. All families will be offered a conference time by the February 16th date. Our goal is to always meet with every family at least once per year.

We will have students sign up, then we will send a confirmation to pay through an online link. We will close the sign up link on Friday, September 29th at 10AM. https://forms.office.com/r/VxrUmYtEry
- REPEAT: When a student is absent, doctor notes should be sent within 3 days of the absence. If you need to email the note, please send attendance notes to sesattendance@calvertnet.k12.md.us This email will be monitored by Ms. Bozman. Please let us know if you have any questions.
- The Flock Tie Dye was postponed due to some of the tie materials being delayed in shipment. We will let you know when it is rescheduled. Students who have not brought in their white tee shirt are encouraged to bring it this week.

Counselor's Corner
From Ms. Hilton and Ms. Shade: Sept. 23, 2023
· Your school counselors are here for you and your students! Stressors impact children differently than adults. Something that might seem like a small deal to us, is a big deal to our kids. If there are changes at home or you notice changes in your child’s behavior, please contact your child’s counselor.
· CCPS Student Services is having a Mental Health Fall Festival on October 10th from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Calvert High School. This is a family-friendly event with food trucks, face painting, games, and more!
