And how does it affect us.

What are GMOs?

Genetically modified organisms are when some genes of a specie are inserted into the DNA of another specie. Thanks to advances in technology, the genetic engineering of plants has the potential to provide edible plants that could be used to fight against infectious diseases.

Risks of consuming them.

GMOs has been growing over the last decades and more and more people are becoming aware that the foods that they are eating are making them sick. One example of what it is saying is the pasteurization of milk.

Basically this process is to increase the shelf life of milk, but it can become contaminated in a number of ways and it is consider as one of the world's most dangerous food products. Why? well, scientist have been researching and they found that seems linked to early puberty in girls as well as causing hormone imbalances in older women. In addition, it was also found to have a high percent of risk of cancer and lower fertility.

Consider in regards to GMOs.

GMOs plants are usually changed to be insect resistant or virus resistant. Whit these changes come some potentially problematic environmental changes. Toxicity is the worst one, bees are hugely important in the pollination of many food crops, but they are extremely endangered by the modern agricultural techniques like toxicity.

Monsanto is one of the largest pharmaceutical and agricultural companies that produce a huge amount of genetically modified foods including pesticides and herbicides. This multimillionaire company has over a 100 different countries and is the main producer of genetically modified crops and seeds in the world.

Even most of their products are dangerous, it still being available in Europe and North America and widely available in less developed countries with an agrarian economy.
