What is Earth Day?
Earth Day is an annual event on April 22nd every year. Gaylord Nelson is the creator of Earth day. Earth day is an event worldwide where people all around the world take care of the earth, also the puck up any trash that is on the ground. This holiday is celebrated in more than 192 countries. Earth day was founded in 1970 for a day of education about environmental issue. In the 1960s, America faced pollution and an idea was sparked by Gaylord to clean up the earth. In 1962 the US Senate selected Gaylord Nelson. By 1969 his idea of Earth Day was a reality. Earth Day is a great day in the world because it is a time for people to clean up the city and give back.
