Polser Principal Points
Polser STEM Academy-September 30th - October 4th, 2019
What's Happening this Week?
First, I want to thank all of our families that came out to support us at the Homecoming Parade this week and at our Pep Rally on Friday! Thank you to those that donated candy. We had so much fun at both events. Our students were so excited to become slide certified!
We have a few things happening this week. On Monday, September 30th we will have a Coffee Talk with the Principal and PTA President at 7:30 a.m. in our Engineering Room. I will share information regarding district initiatives, bullying vs. conflict, and our targeted status based on our accountability report. PTA will share information on how you can be involved at our school. For those of you unable to make the Coffee Talk, I will share information digitally next week.
National Walk/Bike to School is on Wednesday, October 2nd. Please try and ride or walk to school that day!
Calling all Male Role Models for our Annual Watch D.O.G. Launch on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 6-7 p.m. in the Polser Cafeteria. Pizza and drinks will be served. Please come and find out how you can volunteer and be an important male role model at Polser STEM Academy!
Coach Cross shared information regarding the 21 Day Challenge. Please be sure to sign up your child September 23rd - October 7th, enjoy Healthy 21 Day Challenge Snacks October 7th-October 27th, and complete the 21 Day Challenge Survey November 11th - November 18th!
Please be sure to check out the information on Volunteer Opportunities this month! I have included the link below. Mark your calendars for Friday, October 18th. This is our Monster Mash from 6:30-8:30 but also our STEM Ribbon Cutting from 6:00-6:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria. We will have important visitors from our District, our Polser Singers will perform, and special words from Britney Mai, Student Council President, Dr. Rogers, Superintendent, & myself! We are so PROUD of our STEM Academy and I hope you all are able to come and show your support.
Please know we have adjusted the cones to prevent people from turning left as they exit Polser during arrival and dismissal. There is a sign, which will be replaced to reflect the new times for no left turns. We have had some near misses from people turning left and those entering the drop off/pick-up line. There are many ways to enter the adjacent neighborhoods from Hebron and we appreciate your support. I have asked Officer Young, our SRO, to provide patrol in the AM & PM to monitor the traffic and parking. Please do not park in the handicapped parking unless you are allowed to do so. All vehicles must be in a parking space to walk your child into the building and not idle behind parked cars. All PreK parents must walk their children into the building every day. If you are leaving your car at any time during drop off or dismissal in the car line, you must be parked in a parking space and not in the car line. This keeps are students safe and our traffic moving. Thank you in advance for your support.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. I appreciate all that you do for our school and our students!
Mrs. Phelps
