Important MCAS Preparation Dates and Updates
* All staff that are involved in MCAS (or have a chance of being involved in administering MCAS) will need to attend MCAS training with Amy. Please plan to attend one of the trainings listed below:
- March 27 @ 8:15
- March 28 @ 3:20
* Each tested grade will need to run a one hour infrastructure trail (practice test). We will not be pulling the small groups for that as it is mostly an exercise to practice using the test site. Please work as a grade level and plan to do the one hour trial during the week of April 1-5. Please let Amy know when you would like to give it.
* MCAS administration manuals are linked below. If you are involved in the test, you are responsible for reading the manuals well in advance of administering.
Test Administration Manual 2019 (Practice Test- page 31; ELA Session 1- Page 34; ELA Session 2- Page 46; Math/STE Session 1- Page 58; Math/STE Session 2- Page 72; Student Questionnaires- Page 84; HOW to restart Students- Page 116 pages 25 and 26 shows the tools available online (including calculator for STE in grade 5- students could have the option for a hand-held calculator if they do not want the online one...)

Reading Standards Mastery assessments
Reading Standards Mastery assessments will appear on student dashboards in iReady on the dates below, with Grades 4 & 5 happening this week.
Due to the snow day today, the iReady Standards Mastery window will extend through Monday, 3/11 for grades 4 and 5.
Grade 3: Standards Mastery iReady Assessment May 28th - May 31st, 2019 (focus on 3.2 and 3.9)
Grade 4: Standards Mastery iReady Assessment March 4th - March 11th, 2019 (focus on 4.2 and 4.9 updated 1/10/19)
Grade 5: Standards Mastery iReady Assessment March 4th - March 11th, 2019 (focus on 5.2 and 5.9 updated as of 1/10/19).
Students must complete this assessment prior to continuing any online instruction. Two standards are being assessed in each grade level and iReady expects this should take students approximately 30 minutes.
Here is a resource from iReady that explains standards mastery and provides additional resources for using these results to inform our practice.

FROM FOOD SERVICES
Please find an UPDATED PHOTO BOOK of SCHOOL LUNCHES to aide in collecting meal counts for the cafe. This new document contains all of the 2019 meals to date so we can try to reduce the numbers of "mind changing" in the cafe. There have been observed instances of students asking the servers what is for hot lunch which holds up the line as they decide what to eat and results in lots of mind changing at the last minute.
- Please note the 2019 meal count slip contains "plain peanut butter" in addition to PB&J. These meal counts are very important and help us serve lunch without having to delay serving or running out of food
- If you could please remind faculty to check who brought lunch from home when collecting the meal counts so that students who forget to order a meal won't be missed in this counting process.
- It would be very helpful if tardy students are asked what they want for lunch as to help reduce last minute changes to the meal counts.
