Explanation of the Tea Act (1773)
This Act means that its taxing teas. The Majesty taxed any of his colonies or plantations in America; to increase the deposit. Sold at the Indian Company's sales and to grant licenses to the East Indian Company to export tea-duty. This act came out on May 10 , 1773.
Reason for taxing on teas
We parliament are taxing this item because any plantations in America is payable the duty of customs upon foreign goods exported foreign parts where it tends to benefit the and advantage to the trade to the East India Company. Furthermore, we were trying to bail out the East India Company, because it was a key factor for the British. It was not intended to to raise revenue from colonies.
