ELPAC
We know that your child brings many strengths with them to school, but also may need extra support in the classroom. As an English learner student, your child will take the Summative English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) starting next week.
The Summative ELPAC measures how much progress your child is making in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. Your child’s voice will be recorded during the speaking part of the test. These recordings may be used to double check test scores and will not be saved or made public.
Your child will take the Summative ELPAC every spring until they are fluent in English and no longer need support to understand and learn in English.
Explain to your child that this test is used as a tool to help them learn, and should not be anxious or scared.
· Remind your child that you and their teacher want them to try their very best and are here to help
· Talk with your child’s teacher about supporting their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
· Explore the practice tests with your child on the ELPAC Online Practice and Training Tests web page at www.elpac.org/resources/online-practice-and-training-test
You will receive your child’s results before the beginning of the next school year. Test results will identify areas where your child is doing well or needs more help, so you can better support their learning at home and teachers can better support their learning in the classroom.
Please have your child bring a charged laptop and charger to school daily. Feel free to contact Michelle Williams mstinebaugh@sandi.net with any questions.

Community Schools Corner: UPDATED WEEKLY
Family Paint Night is 2/8 in room 801 from 6-7. All families and students are invited. Here is a link to the flyers: English Flyer Spanish Flyer
As a community school, it is important to us that we listen to everyone who cares for our students. Parents and guardians are an essential part of our students’ success. Over the next five years, Lincoln will receive close to $2 million that goes towards our Community Schools initiatives. Participating in this survey is one way to have a say in how the money is spent. We need all of our Lincoln parents and guardians to complete the short survey about the school’s needs. The survey is voluntary and we ask that you select the answer that best represents your feelings. This survey was created based on parent/guardian responses from other surveys. Given the recent flooding, your voice will help us address immediate and long term needs.

All families who submit a response will be entered into an opportunity drawing for a $100 gift card.
- We still have Community Schools Funding available for this school year. One way our students can benefit from these funds is for school events and field trips for your class or club that align with the four community schools pillars. If you would like to make a funding request, please fill out the 23-24 Lincoln Community Schools Funding Request Form. Send any questions to Adam Armas (aarmas2@sandi.net).
- FEMA is looking for students for the Youth Preparedness Council. Given the recent flooding our community has experienced, it is important our youth have an active voice in this committee. The online application is now open, and closes March 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PT. To learn more about the YPC and application requirements, visit Ready.gov/kids/youth-preparedness-council and visit https://community.fema.gov/PreparednessCommunity/s/apply-to-ypc to apply. FEMA will also host a webinar for potential applicants on Feb. 27, 2024. Join to learn more about the program and how to apply.
