National School Counseling Week 2016 will be celebrated from Feb. 1-5 to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success. We help you build the future you want.

National Signing Day

Wednesday, Feb. 3rd, 7pm

NG Multipurpose Room

This Wednesday February 3rd is National Signing Day!

The Football players that will be continuing their football careers and representing North
Gwinnett at the next level will be celebrating with a signing ceremony
Wednesday at 7pm in the North Gwinnett High School Multipurpose room

(located down the sidewalk in between the two gyms). North Gwinnett has
seniors that will be signing letters of intent for class of 2016. Those
who have chosen their schools and will be signing thus far are:

Kameron Pickett
Alex Mollette
KJ Hancock
Jake Adams

Players will be autographing posters after the ceremony. Please make plans
to attend to help them celebrate this huge achievement.

Congrats to all of the freshmen who have been invited this semester!

If you haven't already, please RSVP for Shine, our introductory freshman retreat!

Please follow the directions given in your letter to create your own Beta account!

If you believe you meet Beta Club requirements but did not receive an invitation, please see your advisement counselor.

Any NGHS student interested in taking an advanced theater class for 2016, please stop by the theater and sign up for an audition slot.
Auditions will be Monday 2/8 during all lunches for Musical Theater, One Act, & Children's Theater. Interviews for Stage Craft/Tech Theater will be during lunches on 2/9.

AP Exam Information

Registration for AP testing is now open and will close on Monday, March 14, 2016. Registration and payment for AP exams will be through MyPaymentsPlus (the same online system used for paying for school lunches). Simply go to your student’s account, select “Other Payments,” and register for the exams your student will take. The school pays for the first exam for all students; however, all students must pay a $10 registration fee. The exam fee for the 2nd exam is $92.

Congrats to NG Air Rifle team!

The North Gwinnett Air Rifle team shot against White County Air Rifle team last night. North Gwinnett secured their first victory of the season! The final score was 1063 to 1050. The shooters were Ariane Stevens, Abigail Johnson, Jyoti Makhijani, Shea Hall and Charleston Cooper.

Equestrian News

The ladies of the North Gwinnett HS Equestrian Team powered their way into the post season by earning their 3rd Reserve Championship of the year in our own NG-hosted Bulldog Classic. Also honored today were seniors Cara Brooks, Kayla Rowland, and Sydney Matheny, who rode in their final IEA regular-season show. First Place ribbons were earned by Jillian Snapp, Hope Linder, and Elizabeth Johnson. The team will compete in the Regional Show in March. Congratulations!

Spring Parent Night- NG Counseling

North Gwinnett High School Counseling Department is proud to present its Spring Parent Night on Thursday, February 18th!

Move On When Ready Program (Collaborative Learning Center)
This meeting is for high achieving freshmen, sophomores, juniors and their
parents and will go over the new Move On When Ready Dual-Credit Program for
Georgia high school students. Student qualifications and procedures will be
covered in depth.

College Panel (Multi-Purpose Room 500)
Admissions counselors from Georgia colleges will discuss admission
requirements and application process for their schools as well as answer
any questions that students and parents may have. Colleges that will be
represented on the panel are Georgia Gwinnett College, Georgia State
University, Gwinnett Technical College, Kennesaw State University, and
University of North Georgia.

Credit Options - Getting Ahead or Catching Up (Room 103)
Come find out information on all of the different opportunities offered in
Gwinnett County for getting ahead or making up classes, including Summer
School, Online Campus, and Phoenix High School.
