There will be no school December 22-Jan 4.

School resumes on January 5, 2023.

Join us in congratulating our school Instructional Media Technician (Librarian), Mrs. Reyes, on her retirement. Her last day at Pepper Drive will be 12/21. Mrs. Reyes has worked at Pepper Drive for ____ years, and has been in the Santee School District for ___ years. She is known for making the library an inclusive and exciting place, with an ever-growing collection of relevant books. Students know they can go to Mrs. Reyes for support with research, chat about their favorite characters, or ask her for a recommendation. She truly cares about the students of our school, and that shows in her work every day. She is an incredible asset to Pepper Drive School, and to our school district. She is planning to enjoy traveling and spending more time with her granddaughter during retirement.

6th Grade Camp will be taking place at Cuyamaca Outdoor School January 30th - February 3rd, 2023. 6th Grade families, more information will be sent home in the near future.

Please note, we will be holding a 6th Grade Camp Parent Information Night on Wednesday December 14th at 5:30 PM.

The total cost of camp is $350. Payments can be made by Cash or Check (no credit) until May 2023.

SSD Welcomes Two New Assistant Superintendents

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Marcia Hamilton, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, and Dr. Lisa Paisley, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Dr. Paisley and Dr. Hamilton will begin working for the District on February 1, 2023. They will work alongside their predecessors, Dr. Stephanie Pierce and Karl Christensen respectively, to ensure smooth transitions through June 2023, when Dr. Pierce and Mr. Christensen are set to retire. The San Diego County Registrar has finalized the statewide results of the November 7, 2022, election, including the following results for the three open Santee School District Board of Education positions:

Seat 1 – Barbara Ryan, incumbent

Seat 3 – Dustin Burns, incumbent

Seat 5 – Ken Fox, incumbent
