May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is the perfect time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and to reduce the stigma that they face everyday. Mental Health Awareness Month helps people to recognize the ways that mental illness impact their lives, educate people on available services, and provide different ways to advocate. Talking openly about mental health can help to reduce the stigma and can encourage those who are struggling to seek help and find a support network. There are many ways that you can get involved such as fundraising, community outreach, and awareness events. Just supporting those in your life can spread the message of awareness and acceptance.
