An 8-Week Adventure into the 8 Limbs of Yoga!

Frequently Asked Questions
A: If you have a mat, please bring that. I have a few extras, but not enough for everyone.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Comfortable clothes that you can move in! Try to find clothes that fit closer to the body so they don't fall down in downward dog :)
Q: Can I do yoga if I'm not flexible?
A: Of course!! I offer modifications for every posture to meet you where ever you are. Flexibility comes with time. (When I first started a few years ago, I could not touch my toes!)
Q: Can I do yoga if I'm not "in shape"?
A: We are all in some kind of shape...round, square, whatever! Yoga can be taught to every single person, no matter your "shape." I can't stand the "yoga body" stereotype--yoga was invented by men in India! There is no ideal "yoga body," because we all have our own strengths and weaknesses.
Some of the 8 Limbs that we will be discussing....
Asana is Sanskrit for "posture." This is what most people believe yoga is all about, but it is actually only one piece of the puzzle! We will spend about an hour (or so) each week practicing our 'asanas' off! :)
Pranayama & Dhyana
Pranayama is essentially different breathing excercises, and Dhyana is meditation. There are many different types of pranayama and meditation. We will explore a few different types.
Yamas & Niyamas
Yamas and Niyamas are sometimes considered the "10 Commandments of Yoga." They are guidelines to help us lead a more aware and ethical life.
