Dear LES Families,
Eight weeks of online learning is complete. Time is certainly flying during our first quarter.The end of quarter 1 is Friday, October 30th. Our students are doing a fantastic job thanks to teachers and families around them to provide outstanding support! Your child’s learning is important, and although this may not be the learning that we imagined, the process is getting better as each of us learn strategies for engagement. Please continue to reach out to your child’s teacher, Mr. LaCount, or me if you need any support or help.
This week, we will begin our 1st week of Hybrid learning on Wednesday, October 28th, as we welcome our Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K students will attend Monday-Thursday) and A Day(Monday and Wednesday) Kindergarten students. On Thursday, October 29th, our B Day(Tuesday and Thursday) Kindergarten students will join us.
LES School-Led Online Help Desk for Academic Support: Monday-Thursday, 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. there will be academic support available for students as they complete asynchronous work. This support is available only if teacher support is not available. Please stay tuned for more information on how to access support.
PTA Halloween Costume Drive By: LES PTA is sponsoring a Halloween Costume Drive By on Friday, October 30th at 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Costumes and decorated vehicles are encouraged. Candy surprises and LES staff will be available to say hello to families.
Food Truck Bash PTA Fundraiser: Friday, October 30 from 5pm-7pm. Come grab dinner from Leonardtown Old Town Pub and Coldstone Ice Cream for a picnic or food to go and support LES PTA raise funds to support our teachers and students with necessary resources.
Let’s all do our part to keep each other safe practicing social distancing and mask wearing while raising money for a good cause. Costumes are welcome! (see LES PTA Facebook page for more information)
Red Ribbon Week, School Spirit Week: This week, please speak out in support of healthy choices. Show off your spirit! #leonardtownelementary or add to our padlet https://padlet.com/mnbronzell/e4cmaunufecbc9vj . You may upload spirit week photos using the link below under virtual learning photos or email spirit week photos to cfquickmcqueen@smcps.org.
Each grade level team will host a Parent Information Session. Teachers will share information and answer questions for parents on how to navigate Schoology, access missing assignments, access the gradebook, Schoology during hybrid instruction, what to expect for virtual only learners, etc. Stay tuned for more information from your child's teacher.

Second Grade: 11:15-11:45

Virtual Only Students: Meals will be available for pick up at LES on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
