Spanish Program Update
We are sadly preparing ourselves for Profesora Celina's last couple of months at Sierra before she starts student teaching at Sierra! We know you join us in thanking her for her incredible contributions to our school, your children's Spanish experience, and wishing her the best on her next endeavor.
Fortunately, she will be here at Sierra until winter break in December. We will be searching for her our next Spanish instructor in the meantime. The position will be posted here in the next week or so - https://www.edjoin.org/ - if you know of anyone who might be interested in applying. Interested folks may also email Principal Westberg at awestberg@rocklinusd.org for more information.

Message from Rocklin Unified School District
As you may be aware, AB 130 ensured all students, regardless of eligibility for the Free/Reduced Price Meal Program (FRPM), would receive free meals. This program has increased access to food for students throughout the State; however, it has had an impact on the number of families who completed the income form.
The percentage of students with qualifying incomes, as determined by the annual income form (previously FRPM application), is one of the indicators used to determine the District’s unduplicated student count. Subsequently, this percentage of qualifying students is used as a factor in determining multiple sources of revenue, including State supplemental funding and Federal Title Programs. The percentage of qualifying students was also used when determining some of the Covid-relief funds.
This communication will detail the number of programs funded with supplemental funds, in an effort to increase awareness and increase the number of families completing the form.
We are hoping this will create a surge of income form applications.
Information detailing the communication that will be shared with families can be found in the links included below:

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL ELECTIONS - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Hello Sierra Families,
We are seeking parents to serve along with the Sierra Staff on the 2021-2022 School Site Council.
The Council is made up of five parents and five staff members who review, provide input and approve our Site and Safety Plans. If you have any questions about the Council please email the principal's secretary, Kimberly Ervin, at kervin@rocklinusd.org.
New members receive training from RUSD staff regarding the role of parents/community members serving on school site councils. The training will be delivered at a date (TBD) prior to the first site council meeting. The first Sierra site council meeting will be held virtually on December 14, 2021, and the second meeting virtually on February 10, 2022. Each meeting is about 1.5-2 hours long. This year we have five open parent/community member, 2-year term seats available to serve on the council. If you are interested, please email Kimberly Ervin at kervin@rocklinusd.org by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22nd.
Please include the following information:
