October's Character Quality: Commitment

October's character quality is commitment. Please have conversations about the importance of committing to something and following through. You may even consider asking your child about specific ways he/she could show commitment by linking commitment to keeping promises, committing to doing their best work, practicing for various sports, practicing playing a musical instrument, and examples of commitment they have witnessed by their friends and also by the adults in their lives.

Question of the Week :

Ask your child the following question: Why is commitment important?

Auction: Important Update

This it the last week to turn in GES Auction items. All items are due on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5TH. We need your help! We are asking each family to contribute something for our themed baskets to make this the most successful auction yet! Collection boxes are now in your child's classroom. Just send them to school with their items to be placed in the box. (Please note, donations of wine/beer cannot be dropped off at the school. Please contact your coordinator to arrange for pick up). We will be at the school collecting all donations Thursday, October 5th at 1:00 pm.

A Note from the Carnival Co-Chairs: Carnival is fast approaching and we are all excited for a great time! Please check your child's folder tonight for more information as well as a form to pre-order wristbands and Star cards.

Please also consider signing up to volunteer for the day of carnival using the link below. Thank you for all you do! Carnival would not be possible without your help!
