Boonsboro Middle School
May 15th, 2019
From the Principal
The WCPS Summer Learning Program (iPad check-out) will be offered again this year. You can expect information about this opportunity to be shared via e-mail and Facebook over the next few weeks.
Please encourage your students to READ this summer! What they read is not so much important, and summer is a great time for students to find and read texts that they actually enjoy. I also challenge students to spend as much time outside as possible! We are lucky to live in an area that has so many opportunities for outdoor activities: Appalachian Trail, Greenbrier State Park, Antietam Battlefield, C&O Canal, Potomac River, Antietam Creek, and so many more. The exploration and learning that occurs through these experiences cannot be replicated through a text or video simulation, and helps to form connections to the curriculum we teach in our classrooms.
Lastly, I want to thank you for welcoming me to the BMS community. I have appreciated the candid discussions with so many of you throughout the year and truly value and need your partnership to bring this school to its fullest potential. One of our goals for next year will be to build a stronger school community. Please mark your calendars for August 27th and/or 28th for a tailgate-style Back to School Community Night. More details to come!
I hope you all have a very safe and enjoyable summer!
~Lindsey Avara-Reynolds, Principal

During that orientation parents and athletes will learn what sports are available and when, as well as what is needed and expected of the athlete in order to participate in sports at the high school level. Sports physical forms will be available and how to register on line will be explained. Opportunities to take the baseline concussion test will also be discussed at the meeting.
