Placerita Jr. high School - January 14, 2019

Big picture

Greetings to start the new Quarter! I hope everyone had a great break and that we are ready to return after having a restful time away from school. We welcome several new people to Placerita. Our front office has new staff in three positions. We know Sonia Martinez is our new Registrar and she has been in working for us during the break getting everything prepared for us to start the quarter. Jessica Martinez is our new Health Assistant. She knows Placerita well because she worked with Sonia in her preparation and has been a Health Assistant at Sierra Vista for the past three years. She was also a student at Placerita :) Velia Jimenez is our Counseling Secretary while Katie is baby bonding this spring. Joseph Viola is also joining us in our Special Education Department. He will be teaching Math and Science in Room 38. He comes to us after several years of teaching in New York and the past semester at Sierra Vista.

Let's make them all feel welcome in their new positions.

Remember that we have Minimum Days this Wednesday and Thursday for our Personal PD time as well as our Department Meetings. That will take place in the afternoons of both days. I will send an email with locations and reminders of specific groups. We also need to take a look back at our OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and review and edit them as to where we have progressed. I will reshare that Google Slide presentation or you can find it by searching for OKS in your Google Drive.

WELCOME Xander Lee Weber born 1/4 @ 6:33 PM - 8 lbs. 6 oz. and 21 in. long. Mom and baby are doing well!
