The Eagle Eye Edition
Mountain View Elementary
December 2023
Principal's Monthly Message
Hello Eagle Families,
As we enter the final month of 2023, it is important to enjoy one another and not get lost in the hurriedness of a very busy holiday season. For our students, that means keeping with our regular structures and routines (i.e, regular dinnertime, same bedtime, etc.) all the while enjoying the many festivities that December brings. The consistency of these “normal” daily events helps our students to cope with the stress they see around them and the stress many of them will feel themselves. We look forward to providing that stability for our students at MVS during this holiday month, in the New Year, and the whole year through. Happy Holidays, Eagles!
SOARing with Eagle Pride,
~Mrs. Marich
To SOAR, Be Here More!
Attendance Campaign
We appreciate your partnership in having your student(s) at school, on time, each and every day! A couple of reminders to help in this mission:
- Breakfast in the MPR is offered daily beginning at 7:30
- Students need to be on-campus and through the gate by the warning bell at 7:58 in order to be with their class, entering the classroom when school starts at 8:00 am.
Students are being recognized for their attendance and encouraged to Be Here, each and every day! Some recognition includes:
- Weekly recognition to the classes with the highest attendance rate
- Weekly drawings for students who had perfect attendance during the prior week
- Attendance Surprise Days - students present on these unannounced days get to participate in fun activities
We MISS YOU when you are not here and you MISS OUT when you are absent!
Math Challenge during Winter Break
Tang Math
Tangmath.com offers an online New Year's Math Challenge for students to play games and keep their skills fresh during the 2 week break. Parents/Guardians of students who complete their grade level challenge, can enter their child into a drawing for Tang Math prizes. What new math games will you explore?
