Principal Notes:
Dear Cimarron Family,
At Cimarron we present students with life changing possibilities on a daily basis as we support and encourage our students to imagine who they might become. Every time we are with our students we have the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives. We do this by knowing our students’ learning styles, building lessons, and creating units and experiences that are authentic and real for students.
This year’s Celebration of Learning will be a great opportunity for our community to celebrate the amazing things that happen at Cimarron on a daily basis. Celebration of Learning next Friday, March 2nd. See below for details of this amazing event!
Thank you for supporting Cimarron as we keep student engagement and ownership of learning a priority!

Encouraging Kindness
Kindness is treating others with respect and compassion. When a person is kind it helps create the basis of a healthy and productive relationship. While many believe that the middle-school years are all about insensitive adolescents with selfish tendencies, this is also a time when many young people begin to see the value of being kind to others. Sometimes middle-schoolers need to be reminded that they prefer to be treated kindly so they can expect that others would prefer the same treatment. The emotional highs and lows of middle school and adolescence may affect the way your child applies kindness to her interactions and relationships, and it is important to continue cultivating and practicing this essential social skill.

Dear Cimarron Parents:
Collaboration and communication with our parents is a vital component of student success at Cimarron Middle School. In lieu of Parent-Teacher conferences this school year, Cimarron Middle School will be hosting a “Celebration of Learning.” As a result of hosting this event, individual conferences with teachers and teams about your student’s progress will not occur. Please have a conversation with your student and visit Infinite Campus for current grade status.

Immunization
IMany immunization updates are necessary by the time school starts in August. During your child's well visit is a great time to check with your primary care provider to update immunizations.
For teenagers, your primary care provider may recommend several immunization series that are not required for school but may be recommended to promote health and wellness for adolescents.
For all students with personal and religious exemptions, parents will need to re-sign the CDPHE exemption form or submit a statement of exemption in August. Please see the DCSD Health Service website and Colorado Tri-County Health/CDPHE immunization websites for more information and for exemption forms.
