Reading Junior High Longhorns
Message from your Principal
We are heading into our third week of the 6 weeks and our kids are getting their stride and I am seeing them taking charge of their learning more and more. We are continuing to talk about having high expectations and setting goals for the future. It is great to hear all of the future plans our Longhorns have from wanting to attend medical school to become a surgeon to wanting to own a business. We try to make the connection between working hard at school and their aspirations for the future. It will be here before they know it!
Please do take advantage of before school and after school tutorials- contact your child's teachers if you have any questions. Progress report grades for our 2nd 6 weeks ends this Friday.
We have so many great kids and they are creating our reputation for excellence and character- I witnessed last week one of our students find a $20.00 bill on the floor in the cafeteria and immediately brought it to me. We found the other student who had dropped it and it was returned- these are the kinds of things that I see happening on OUR campus and I am so grateful that you share your kids with us!
I have read the parent survey that I sent out a couple of weeks ago regarding parent night in November and based on your feedback, we will plan to have sessions on:
College & career readiness for high school
Dual Credit and High School Endorsements
Canvas and Skyward for parents
Cyber safety
Study Skills for Students
Thank you for the feedback- two way communication is key!
Good luck to our 8th grade Black Team Volleyball players this week as they battle it out for district championship!
Thank you for sending us the Best of the Best!
