From the Desk of Russ Booth

October 15, 2022

Good morning MHS families,

There are many exciting and important opportunities coming up in the next couple of weeks, and information about these opportunities is described below.

One area that I would like to speak more about is our NEASC family survey. MHS is currently going through the process of renewing our accreditation through NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). This year MHS will be conducting and writing a self-reflection report and submitting it to a NEASC committee that will be visiting our school in April. Prior to writing the report we must gather data from students, faculty, and families. We conducted the student and faculty surveys this past week, and we now need to conduct the survey with families. The information provided in all three (3) surveys will be used to determine areas of improvement and support our writing of the self-reflection report.

I am asking all families with a student at MHS to use the link provided and fill out the family survey. This step in the self-reflection process is incredibly valuable and I want to thank you in advance for your time and effort to provide information.

NEASC Family Survey Link

Families, please use the link provided to fill out the Family survey for our NEASC accreditation process. The information submitted through this survey will be used to support decisions about where MHS can make improvements. Please take the time to fill out the survey, as it is an important part of our accreditation process and we need a strong level of response to help steer our work.

MHS Job Fair

The Mansfield High School Career Office will be hosting its second Job Fair Week October 24th-28th. The purpose of this fair is to offer students the opportunity to engage with local employers who are looking to hire students this season. This fair will be focused on seasonal, holiday, and general part time work, some even hire at 15. If you have a student interested in getting a job this year, encourage them to stop by the tables at lunch. There will be a raffle for students who participate!

Early Release Reminder

As a reminder, this Wednesday, October 19th will be an early release day for the district. MHS will dismiss students at 11:00am. Lunch will be served during the school day.

MCAS Results

MCAS results for 2022 will be mailed home on Monday, October 17th to all families of students who took the exam during the last year. Please be on the lookout for the results in the mail.

Picture Retakes: Tuesday, October 18th

Picture Retake Day - Tuesday, October 18th

On Retake Day students who were photographed in September but want to have their picture retaken, may do so. As well, students not yet photographed this school year should plan to have their picture taken on Tuesday.

Photos can be pre-ordered online at mylifetouch.com using Picture Day Event ID: EVTV4G8NV up until approximately 48 hours after Retake Day.

Once online pre-ordering is closed, please call Lifetouch Customer Service at 800-736-4753 to request your student’s Portrait ID and Access Code to place a Post-Picture Day online order. Reference that you are from Mansfield High School in MA, and have your student’s ID number available for verification purposes.
