November Newsletter
DCES/CECC
Assistant Principal Message
Our teachers enjoyed meeting with everyone for Parent/Teacher conferences in October. Please remember that if you ever have a question or concern, you can reach out to your child's teacher at any time.
In November, we see a change in temperatures. Please send your child to school with a jacket or coat for recess. Students go out to recess a couple times a day and we want them to be dressed appropriately in order for them to enjoy the outdoors.
Please remember this Sunday to set your clocks back one hour for the time change.

Health Room News
All mandatory vaccines need to be completed by October 17, 2022 or your child will be excluded from school until they are completed or proof of an appointment is shown. If this pertains to your child, you would have already received notice. If you have not received notice, please disregard.
As flu season approaches, please remember to keep your child home if they are sick. Make sure you call in to the front office to notify if your child will be out.
Vision screenings will begin the week of 10/3 for 1,3, and 5th grade students. Please make sure your child comes to school with their classes if they have some.
I will not be providing recurring Benadryl cream, cough drops, or Tylenol for students. Parents must provide all medications.
All 4th and 5th grade parents: please check your child's take home folder. There was a permission slip sent home in regards to our Growth and Development talk. IF this is not returned, I will assume your child CAN participate. This talk will take place 10/4. Boys and girls will be seperate.
Notes and Changes in Transportation
If you are running late and your child is tardy, it is important to sign your child in when they arrive. Please come into the building with your child to sign them in for the day.
If your child is going home a different way, we need to have a note or a phone call before 2:00 pm. There are many students in the building and the end of the day gets hectic. If you call for a change of transportation after 2:00, we cannot guarantee the message will get to your child. Please be considerate of our office staff and make arrangements before 2:00.
Car Riders
We need your continued help to ensure our students get picked up safely every day from school. Here are a few things to remember.
- Please help us be a good neighbor to our neighbors - do not block anyone's driveway. Do not allow yourself to be "stuck" there if the line is not moving and block that exit for a neighbor.
- Please place your name placard in the passenger window (if you need one please see the front office) - ALL CARES MUST HAVE A PLACARD.
- If you are picking your child up early, you must come into the school before 2:45 to sign him/her out. If you come after 2:45, you will have to wait until dismissal is complete.
- Please speak to your child about being a good listener and remaining quiet while student names are being called. We have a lot of car riders and our line will move quickly if our students hear their name the first time it is called.
